Marriage, Individual and Family Counseling: Affordable Therapists and Counselors
When
you call ACC, we will take some basic personal information and help you select a therapist based on your preferences. If you
like, you can also review the photos and brief biographies below to see which counselor feels like the best fit. You will
also find articles written by several of our therapists on the Helpful Information page. These may give you a better understanding
of their approaches.

|
|
Please be aware that our therapists are each independent mental health professionals, with
their own private practices. While we have carefully selected our team of counselors, they do not work FOR ACC. They are in
business for themselves, and you are contracting with the therapist and not with ACC, which is simply a referral service.

Leslie Goldberg, MS, RN, Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Mental Health, has over thirty years of experience as a psychiatric nurse. She has
been prescribing medication for adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress for over
five years. Leslie's goal is to help people find a medication that is successful in relieving symptoms which are
interfering in their lives so they can be productive at work, and able to participate in interpersonal relationships more
effectively. She is proactive in finding the medication which works best for each individual, and doesn't believe
in people being on a medication which isn't beneficial. Leslie cares about your goals, and will work in partnership
with you and your therapist to accomplish them. She is empathic and compassionate, and believes in your innate personal
strengths, knowledge, and ability to change. Why choose a Prescribing Nurse vs. a general MD or Psychiatrist? As
a psychiatric prescribing nurse, Leslie has specific training and experience forcused on mental health concerns, such as depression,
anxiety, ADHD, bipolar, and PTSD. She is trained and experienced as both a therapist and prescribing nurse.
As a result, Leslie will typically be more knowledgeable and experienced in mental health medication than a general or family
practice MD. She also has a holistic approach. Choosing the services of a psychiatrist may result in being told
that they are not taking new patients, longer wait lists, and higher fees compared to a prescribing nurse. And, for
many clients with moderate symptoms, the additional training of a psychiatrist may not be necessary. Fees and
Insurance A one hour initial appointment, involving assessment, diagnosis, and initial prescription is $150.
Follow up appointments to evaluate and adjust medication are normally for 1/2 hour and the fee is $75. Follow up appointments
are scheduled based on clinical need. Once a person is doing well on medication, appointments are typically every three
months. Leslie accepts cash, checks, and Mines and Associates Insurance. Office in Lakewood
